Everyone is exposed to EMF waves on a daily basis. Most people might think of just their cell phones and power lines as dangerous but in our world everything is WiFi and bluetooth. We have smart light bulbs, video baby monitors, virtual assistants, headphones, security camera’s and systems, speakers, laptops, smart meters, and iPad’s. Microwaves, stereo systems, baby monitors, and blenders are some examples of other types of EMF’s. We now have 5G to worry about which is extremely dangerous.
There are two types of electromagnetic radiation: ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. This type of radiation contains enough electromagnetic energy to strip atoms and molecules from the tissue and alter chemical reactions in the body. Gamma rays and X-rays are two forms of ionizing radiation. We know they cause damage, which is why we wear a lead vest when X-rays are taken of our bodies.
The most influential process of EMF impact on living organisms, is its direct tissue penetration. It is well known that weak EMF’s can cause all sorts of dramatic effects in human DNA, body cells, tissues and organs.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) along with the Agenda of World Health Organization (WHO) has classified radio electromagnetic fields to a category 2B as potentially carcinogenic. Electromagnetic fields can be dangerous not only because of the risk of cancer, but also other health problems, including electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS).
Electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) is a phenomenon characterized by the appearance of symptoms after exposure of people to electromagnetic fields, generated by EHS is characterized as a syndrome with a broad spectrum of non-specific multiple organ symptoms including both acute and chronic inflammatory processes located mainly in the skin and nervous systems, as well as in respiratory, cardiovascular systems, and musculoskeletal system.
There is extensive documentation by The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) explaining the adverse biological health effects of EMF exposure to humans. These negative effects include genetic damage, cancer, reproductive defects, nervous system dysfunction, immune system dysfunction, neurological degeneration, and many other biological systemic problems.
As you can see in the photo, use of EMF producing devices produce a tremendous breakdown at the cellular level which leads to many other problems including mental illnesses (Alzheimers, Dementia, and depression), insomnia, Cancer, Autism, ADHD including problems related to memory loss, attentiveness and focus, and other chronic disease states.
The most dangerous thing we need to worry about is the link between EMF exposure and DNA fragmentation which can lead to gene/cell mutations and ultimately cancer.
Children and EMF Exposure
With rapid advances in electromagnetic field (EMF) technologies and communications, children are increasingly exposed to EMFs at earlier and earlier ages.
There is consistent epidemiological evidence associating exposure to extremely low frequency (ELF) magnetic fields with many childhood ailments such as leukemia.
Children in general, are at a particularly greater risk from EMF exposure due to a higher absorbency rate than adults. Findings from The Stewart Report show that children absorb as much as 60% more energy per pound of body weight than that of human adults.
Current standards for maximum cell phone signal strength is known to penetrate up to one inch in an adults head while the same signal strength of a cell phone may completely pass through a child’s head.Of course, the effects of prolonged EMF exposure is a cumulative effect that spans throughout a lifetime. Although there is much evidence already showing unfavorable results of EMF exposure, we have yet to really see the fully realized impact of prolonged EMF exposure as it continues to increase dramatically over prior generations.
EMF exposure effects the Male and Female reproductive systems
EMF’s hit DNA in reproductive tissues especially hard as there is no bone protective barrier between our wi-fi devices and a female’s ovum or a male’s testicles.
Recent studies show that continuous exposure to EMF radiation, especially from close contact cell phones drastically reduces sperm count and motility. Studies also show how DNA in the female’s ovum is also greatly altered.
Wi-fi is impacting not only those who wish to conceive now, but also future generations. The damaged DNA from the parent is passed along to the fetus, affecting future familial lines.
Females are born with all of the reproductive eggs she will ever have. Every little girl using a cell phone or wireless device now is at risk of having fertility issues later in life because of the cumulative radiation exposure she is subject to today. This cumulative EMF radiation exposure damages the reproductive system in the fetus growing inside the pregnant mother’s womb as well, multiplying the risk from generation to generation.
Dr. Pall’s research on the biological effects of EMF radiation provides us with valuable information on how EMF radiation impacts our bodies.
Martin L. Pall, PhD, is a Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry and Basic Medical Sciences at Washington State University. His publications include numerous studies on the biological effects of electromagnetic fields and the implications it has on the electrical systems in our bodies.
- Nervous system and brain: widespread neurological – neuropsychiatric effects that may cause things like headache, fatigue, sleep disturbance, insomnia, depression, poor concentration and focus, cognitive dysfunction, memory loss, anxiety, stress, and vertigo.
- Endocrine/hormonal systems: Prolonged EMF exposure lowers neuroendocrine and insulin levels in the body. Steroid hormone levels also drop while other hormone levels increase. The
consequences of the disruption of these regulatory systems is immense. - Oxidative stress and free radical damage: These play central roles in essentially all chronic diseases.
- Cellular DNA attacks: Attacking the DNA of our cells, producing single strand and double strand breaks in cellular
DNA and oxidized bases in our cellular DNA. These in turn produce cancer and also
mutations in germ line cells which produce mutations in future generations. - Elevated Apoptosis: Responsible for causing both neurodegenerative diseases and infertility.
- Male & Female Fertility Problems: Lowering of sex hormones and libido. Increasing levels of spontaneous abortion and attacking sperm cell DNA.
- Excessive Intracellular Calcium [Ca2+]i Production: Excessive calcium production and signaling has been linked to many illnesses.
- Cancer: Attacks the cells of the body. Such attacks are thought to act via 15 different mechanisms during cancer causation.
The effects of EMF radiation exposure are a deep concern and can be very symptomatic in nature. Many symptoms might be obvious and some not so obvious. Below are some of the symptoms you may experience from EMF exposure.
Prolonged EMF radiation exposure can have negative effects on the human body in many ways:
Short-Term Health Effects
- Aches and pains

- Decreases sperm motility
- Tingling or burning sensations
- Anxiety, stress, irritability
Long-Term Health Effects
- Cancers
